Cost Examples
This PV 2012 cost calculator will help you to get an idea of the costs of different sized systems and their payback periods. You can change the price/Watt or the system size to get an idea of how the incentives and payback periods are effected. If between 1 and 20 homes participate, the cost will be $6.49/Watt, if we get about 80 homes to participate, or approximately 65 homes and one business, the cost will be $6.26/Watt. These are the upper and lower most tiers. The prices decrease as follows: $6.49/W $6.45/W, $6.40/W, $6.39/W, $6.35/W, $6.31/W, and $6.26/W, all of which depend on how many total Watts are installed.
These are general calculations. It is important to keep in mind that there are many variables that will effect the cost and efficiency of a solar installation. You will receive a proposal for the price of your individual system after your site assessment. You can sign up for you free site assessment by calling 1.888.91.WATTS (1.888.91.92887).
Our cost examples do not count as tax advice, so we recommend checking with your accountant to make sure you have the tax liability to receive these tax credits.
Another great tool to check out is a calculator that can be found on the Energy Trust of Oregon website that can help you to calculate the benefits of solar for your household.
